Why screens matter more here

In salt air, screens act like filters: they load up with salt and pollen, and the first rain rinses that load straight onto your just-cleaned glass. A screen brushed in place stays dirty. Washed off-frame and dried, it stops shedding onto the glass behind it.

Tracks and sills

Sand, pollen, and insect debris collect in tracks and grind against weatherstripping every time a window opens. Vacuuming and wiping them isn't cosmetic — it's why windows in maintained homes still slide easily at year ten.
